George Bramhill Homestead

JT Bramhill and Family – The picture was taken in the late 1800s showing who we believe to be the John Thomas Bramhill family.

Given the age of the lady standing to the left we surmise that this is a housekeeper who looked after the household chores after JT’s wife passed away.

Side view of the farmhouse showing the back kitchen and woodshed. The house was originally a log and frame house and was bricked by Ann a few years after George passed away.

For the Reunion in July 2000 we commissioned a watercolour painting of the homestead by Brian Dalton of Minto Glen. Brian is the Art Teacher at Norwell District secondary School in Palmerston.

Brian did two paintings – a closer view focusing on just the house. This painting was presented to Lauretta Shewan of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, for the incredible work she has done gathering and maintaining the Family Genealogy.

The other painting shows some of the out buildings located near the house. This painting was given to Robert and Lynda Bramhill, grandson of JT Bramhill and the current owner of the homestead.

Many who came to the Reunion visited the Homestead.
