Olive was the fifth daughter of John Goodwin and Elizabeth Bramhill. She
was born 16 December 1885 at Palmerston, Ontario. She died 11 March 1946 at
Pouce Coupe, B.C.
Olive met Bert Underwood while visiting at her brother Eli at Colgate,
Saskatchewan. Bert had come west from Ontario and was living with his brother
Charles at the time of the 1906 census.
Bert did claim a homestead under the Land Grants, his land numbers were -
SE Quarter, Section16, Township 6, Range 15, West of 2nd.
This land was near Weyburn, Saskatchewan.
Olive Goodwin and Bert Underwood were still living at Weyburn in 1927, so
it would be after that when they made the decision to move their family to
British Columbia. The dry years that the prairies endured during the late 20's,
was a factor in their decision to leave, as did many pioneers who felt they
could make a better living for themselves and their family by moving to where
the land was considered to be more productive, with brighter future for them.
They settled
near the town of Pouce Coupe B.C.

had four children:

Underwood and Frank Gibbons
divorced in 1948.
