My first documentation of our Bramhill Family goes back to the marriage of Thomas Bramhill and Mary Bairstow in Rotherham, Yorkshire, on the 26^th October 1862. The marriage certificate states that Thomas' age is 22 years at this time. It seems that both Thomas and Mary were born about 1840. Thomas, a Cabinet Maker, was the son of John Bramhill. Thomas’ wife, Mary, a Straw Bonnet Maker, was the daughter of Matthew and Ann Bairstow.

My grandparents were married in Leeds in 1923 and emigrated to Canada in 1926.

From Immigration Records (1925-1935) I discovered that Granddad (Richard Henry Bramhill) along with my Grandmother (Alice Bramhill), my Dad (Alan Richard Bramhill) and my Aunt (Mary Bramhill) arrived in Canada at the port of Quebec on June 6, 1926 on the Canadian Pacific ship Montclare. (Only Granddad being the head of his party was listed -- and only as Richard Bramhill.)

Obituary - PEOPLES, Audrey Constance Barrett, 78, resident of Montgomery, AL, died peacefully on September 28, 2006. Funeral services will be at All Saint's Episcopal Church, October 2, 2006, at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jim Wallace, Rector, officiating; burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Leak-Memory Chapel on Sunday, October 1st from 5:00-7:00. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 39 years, Tyler G. Peoples, and her beloved father, Francis Edwin Barrett. She was born June 9, 1928, in Yeadon, Yorkshire, England and immigrated to the United States to marry Tyler Peoples, MSgt. USAF, on December 2, 1949. She and her husband were stationed at various bases and moved to Montgomery in 1962 after his retirement from military service. After raising her children, she was employed by the State of Alabama and retired after many years of service. She was a most loving, gracious, and beautiful wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Barrett and wife Anne Barrett, son, T. Richard Peoples and wife Mary F. Peoples, daughter, Loretta F. Alexander and husband Drew G. Alexander, son Mark A. Peoples; grandchildren, Jennifer L. Crowder and husband Nick C. Crowder, Douglas R. Peoples and wife Kelly D. Peoples, Matthew A. Peoples, Jeremy L. Peoples, and A. Brad Alexander; great-grandchildren, Barrett C. Crowder, Jack R. Crowder, Tyler P. Peoples, and Lindsey F. Peoples. She shared the last 16 years of her life filled with love, laughter, and happiness with Johnnie "Tank" Phillips her devoted sweetheart. She will always have a special place in the hearts of her loving family and friends.
